Key tech to ensure problem is solved

LockPower Infinity combines a perovskite light-harvesting module with a built-in lithium battery to supply backup power to a compatible smart lock.

How it works

Perovskite panel harvests power from light all day even under moonlight. A built-in lithium battery stores energy. When lock needs back-up power, Lockpower is there to keep it on.

From your friction to the fix

Hand-drawn design sketch showing how LOCKPOWER Infinity evolved from the question “Can a smart lock power itself?”, rejecting bigger batteries, power cables, and hand-cranks in favor of an ambient-light perovskite module that stores energy and feeds the lock’s charging port.

After careful research, we decided that the product should feature:

  • Low-Light Solar Power:
    The perovskite module is designed to begin harvesting at 45 lux and store available energy in a wide-temperature battery. That start point does not mean moonlight alone can cover a smart lock's daily power use.
  • Battery Buffer Design:
    Sunlight varies, but locks need steady power. Our planned lithium battery would store solar energy and smooth out the supply, with cold-weather performance guiding our selection for winter use.
  • Retractable Cable Design:
    Ports and mounting space vary by lock. We’re planning a retractable cable to adjust the reach and keep extra cord tucked away.
  • Plug-and-Play Power:
    Our tests showed that a lock’s emergency port could power the whole lock, making plug-and-play power possible. We’re planning USB-C and Micro-USB connections to support most locks.
  • Compact Body Design:
    Our Amazon smart-lock research found typical sizes around 2.8 inches. We’re targeting a 2.4–3.1-inch body so it looks balanced beside the lock.
  • Outdoor Protection Design:
    Our Amazon smart-lock research found ratings of IP54 or higher. We’re targeting at least IP54 protection for reliable long-term outdoor use.
